Bio

Elfy Castro is an artist and designer originally from Peru, who draws inspiration from the works of creators who use creativity to raise awareness about important issues. Elfy's projects are recognized for their unique, impressive, and meaningful approaches that effectively communicate messages and ideas. Through continuous exploration and experimentation, Elfy pushes the boundaries of art and design to create something innovative and refreshing.

As a design consultant, Elfy worked for many years to promote Peruvian ancient and traditional crafts by collaborating with indigenous communities in Peru. From complete collections to woven furniture, avant-garde proposals were developed and exhibited on local and international platforms.

Now a dual citizen, Toronto, Canada is Elfy's new home. With a BA in Industrial Design and currently an MFA (Interdisciplinary Art, Media and Design) candidate at OCAD University in Toronto, artistic skills continue to be honed, exploring new ways to combine different mediums and techniques to create engaging and thought-provoking works. Educational exchange with the product design department at OsloMet University in Oslo, Norway, and former artist-in-residence at the Harbourfront Centre in Toronto, Canada, provided opportunities to learn and work with talented artists, designers and mentors

Elfy's commitment to promoting emotions and feelings through unconventional multidisciplinary and interdisciplinary processes is truly inspiring, particularly in times disrupted by artificial intelligence. The limits of creativity are continuously explored through the intersection of art, design, and new technologies. In raising awareness of important issues facing our world today, Elfy's work is a testament to the power of art and design as an advocate to inspire change and make a difference in people's lives.
